Dear Editor,
I was disturbed to read the item on the bottom of page 8 of the Monday,
September 20 edition of the Toronto Sun entitled “Man who killed boss
faces assault charge.” After stabbing his boss to death in 2002, a
Brampton man tried to kill his present supervisor by running him over,
and was facing assault charges. My question is, “Why was he out on the
street if he killed someone in 2002?” I am also disturbed to hear of the
possible parole of the person who killed an OPP officer in Mount Forest
in 1982. Especially since he was sentenced to life in prison with NO
parole.
And now, having heard of the Dryden business man, taxpayer, family man,
who chose to disagree with the regulations of the government on the gun
registry and Bill C-68 -- Bruce Montague, it seems to me that the Sun
has been strangely quiet on this story. Bruce Montague, who disagrees
with a law that violates the Charter of Rights in 27 areas, faces the
possibility of spending more time in jail than Karla Hamolka. It is
obvious that the government has deemed “disagreement with government
regulation” as a more heinous crime than those crimes against the “lives
of Canadian citizens and the lives of those who protect us”. Is this a
country full of “girly men” like the Democratic party in the US? Is this
Bruce Montague the only man left in Canada? I’m sure there are more out
there. If there are, they need to stand with this Mr. Montague against
tyranny. Where is the justice?
Sincerely,
Kathy Joslin, Ontario
