Dear Bruce:
After our telephone conversation I must say I was very impressed with the amount of work and effort that you and Donna are doing to challenge Bill C-68.
Please let me tell you a bit about myself. I am 78 years old and still am able to do a fair days work. I have enjoyed many good years of hunting and fishing with my family and friends. I don't hunt animals any more because my wife and I cannot consume all the meat , but that is not the whole problem Bill C-68 takes away. Our rights to own property, our rights to protect our families' property.
Our television station reports the Police as saying if you are invaded, do not attack but give the invaders what they request. Since the liberals have given inmates the rights to vote, it would seem that the next law to be implemented is that the criminal is becoming an endangered species. Anytime a gun is stolen, it is never the culprit who is apprehended, but the gun owner is charged. Where is the logic in that?
Over 90% of my hunting is now done with my camera and not guns any more, but as a concerned citizen I need to see resolution in this.
My main concern is: are you going to get the finances required? I came up with the idea that should not be a problem. If I were to donate $1,000.00, we would only need 299 concerned Canadians to make the same donation or 3000 people at $100.00 each to make this funding happen. This, I'm sure is a small percentage of gun owners who would be more than willing to make the donation.
Please find enclosed a cheque for $1,000 payable to:
"Bruce Montague Scrap C-68 Fund"
Sincerely,
George Schmidt
