This letter to the editor is in response to the Global National show on Tuesday, December 06, 2005 which was apparantly very anti-gun (which is typical these days).

Subject: "Gun Culture"
Unbelieveable! Totally unbeliveable! Your coverage of the effect of our
so-called 'gun control' laws was so unbelievably biased! Whatever happened
to "objective journalism"? Not one interview with one single pro-gun rights
advocate, and yet you let Wendy Cukier, whose anti-gun tripe has been
completely discredited, ramble on and on!
And your "reporting" on "the gun culture" has nothing to do with the *real*
gun culture. What you were covering was the "gang culture", or the "drug
culutre", or the "crime culture". The real gun culture - that of the
legitimate, law abiding, gun owning citizen - is a culture of safety,
respect and responsibility. The genuine gun culture teaches respect for
firearms, the user, and others. It teaches safety and responsibility in
the use of firearms. It fosters independence, self reliance, self esteem,
and confidence in the individual. It helps to reduce crime and protect
others in society.
99.99% of all the guns owned in Canada will never be used to commit a
crime, and 99.99% of all gun owners won't either. We are amongst the most
law abiding segment of the population. We resent being constantly compared
to violent criminals who prey on the weak and the helpless.
You can expect a complaint will be lodged with the CRTC on your shameless
anti-gun bias!
