We're very sad to see one of the greatest pro-gun advocates in Canada pass
away. David Tomlinson, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on Sept 18, 2007 after a brief illness.
I've known Dave for almost 20 years, and he has been a tireless leader in
this fight against the draconian firearms laws that our government has been forcing upon us. Dave has been very dedicated in this fight for more reasonable gun laws for about 30 years, and was unmatched in his expertise in the laws we do have. I admire his dedication to this cause and pray that others take up his "sword" (gun??) and help to fill this void that we are now left with.
| This is Katey and Dave acting goofy during our last court appearance in March. Katey and Dave quickly took a real liking to each other. |
Dave and the NFA have been instrumental in helping many people in the court
system, including our current Fiearms Act Charter Challenge. Dave was modest about his involvement with our case, and many people may not be aware of the long hours he spent with us in this
constitutional challenge of the Firearms Act, as well as providing expert
testimony, legal advice, and much needed financial support to help keep this
case going. His absence will be painfully felt as we enter court again in just
a few weeks. Our next court date is October 22, 2007.
Dave had a fun loving side as seen in the photo, and he cared deeply about the people whose lives he enriched.
Dave, you will be sorely missed.
Yours in Liberty,
Bruce.
